THE ATLAS GROUP
by
WAID RAAD
The Atlas Group is a fictional organization established in 1999 by artist Waid Raad. The archive consists of Raad's vast collection of works - concerning the Lebanese War - such as photographs, videos, mixed-media. However, these artifacts are attributed to fictional characters.
This archive blurs the line between fact and fiction. Even though the war was real and took place in the material world, this archive paints a picture or establishes a discourse on the events.
The Atlas Group comes to life in a digital form, as well as in when performed (public presentations).
On this page, you will find information about UFO / alien related projects by artists, scientists, philosophers etc. Or just other inspiring stuff.
TYPE A > content that they produced, attributed to imaginary individuals
TYPE FD > content that they produced; attributes to anonymous indv or org
TYPE AGP > content that they produced; Attributed to the atlas group

THE MNEMOSYNE ATLAS
by
ABY WARBURG
The memory atlas
Aby Warburg investigated the "afterlife of antiquity"; images (symbols, myths, motifs) of the intellectual and emotional value of antiquity are re-imagined and how they resurrect in art and cosmology through Renaissance and Modernity.
This work touches upon various topics:
memory, cosmology, gods, classical tradition today.
Warburg arranged and re-arranged the images countless times, in order to come to a conclusion.
